Kitchen Culinaire

Julie Marr's blog, Kitchen Culinaire , is a gastronomic tour de force when it comes to sharing, styling, and photographing the season's best.  I first came across her beautiful photography through instagram, and quickly became a follower and fan of her work.  For me, good food blogging has always been about style, context and composition.  Kitchen Culinaire exhibits these so effortlessly, and what's more, Julie's website is organized with a good layout. A well-organized blog is something I truly appreciate, because it's what compels me to come back time and time again for inspiration. When you go through the singular, inimitable style that is Julie's, you too will connect with what she is teaching us at any given moment and be inspired to create your own plat du jour in the kitchen.  Whether she is throwing a dinner party or is teaching a cooking class at home in Vancouver, Canada, for chef Julie, it's all about making the connection between what is on...

Jamie Godfrey

I'd like to introduce you to a creative individual who comes from the world of design and merchandising.  Jamie Godfrey's background as a home products designer for Ralph Lauren and Martha Stewart, has given him the inspiration to create a line of handcrafted products under his own brand.  The assortment of textiles, candles and published novels are available through his website, Jamie Godfrey .  His product line of home goods introduces us to Jamie's personal style, which I find to be fresh, crisp and quite pleasing to the eye.  Jamie offers us beautiful, and thoughtfully designed, fabric by the yard through his  Etsy Shop .  His color palette is one that I instantly connect with, as I'm sure many of you will too. The soothing color of celadon in a Y pattern is suited for many uses throughout the home, such as bed linens and upholstery.  The celadon-colored chain pattern can also be used for upholstery, but it can successfully be utilized for t...

Bunny Cakes Blog

Here's a little inspiration for you from an individual who caught my attention through beautiful photography and styling on her blog.  Aptly named, Bunny Cakes , this particular blog displays well-designed crafts that are approachable, feasible and infinitely inspiring, with a nod towards bunnies of all kinds.  Paper bunnies, cookie bunnies, and even jadeite bunnies appear on Kristin's blog quite frequently, but it is through her creative posts that she shows you her minimalist approach to crafting as well as decor. Bunny Cakes Blog I first came across her photographs through instagram, and while perusing her various posts, I knew that I was onto a kindred spirit.  Not only does she take excellent photography that is clean & crisp, she also collects some of my favorite things!  What I love about the way she styles her content is the attention to detail that makes all of the difference.  You do not see anything that is haphazard or out of place. ...

How'd You Do That?

The blog, How'd You Do That? , is always inspirational to me because it is written from the heart.  Blogging colleague and friend, Joy, really dedicates time and care into her posts, and if you take a moment to go through her blog, you will see that it shows.  Her blog started off as a private blog for family members so that she could keep in touch with those who aren't near her, but at some point a few years ago, Joy decided to take it live.  The rest, as they say, is history. Over a conversation last week I came to find out that Joy was contemplating ending the blog.  After giving it more thought and some much needed encouragement, she has decided to keep going!  I am so glad because Joy is a true inspiration to me, her family and her readers.  Not only does she blog about her baking, crafting, collections, decorating ideas and her family, but she volunteers and gives back to her community when she has the time.  This is one of the things th...
